so richtig konsequent und durchdacht kommt mir das alles nicht vor was EVGA da seinen Kunden anbietet

die Nachrüstung der Backplate dürfen die Kunden selbst zurechtfummeln und für das Bios Update können sie ihre karten einschicken verwirrt

das alles ist ganz bestimmt nicht mehr cool

inzwischen gibt es schon ein drittes Problem, diesmal sind es die Wärmeleitpads des Arbeitsspeichers die nicht richtig anliegen

scheinbar EVGA bei der Fertigung der Kühler, der ganzen Plates und Pads richtig sch...e gebaut

es gibt erste Tests nach den Modifikationen

Einbau der Wärmeleitpads und Bios Update auf einer EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 FTW Gaming:

während sich die Spannungswandler im Benchmark Furmark vor dem BIOS-Update auf 109 Grad Celsius erhitzten, waren nach dem BIOS-Update nur noch 95 Grad Celsius messbar. Die Wärmeleitpads reduzierten die Temperatur noch einmal um 5 bis 10 Grad Celsius, das klingt erst mal ganz ok.

Aber: durch das BIOS-Update steigt auch die Lautstärke, da ein verändertes Lüfter-Management aufgespielt wird. Mit dem alten BIOS kam die EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 FTW Gaming auf 38 Dezibel. Das neue BIOS sorgte für einen Anstieg der Lautstärke auf 47 Dezibel. Ursache hierfür ist ein Anstieg der Lüfterdrehzahl von 1600 auf 2200 Umdrehungen pro Minute.

EVGA will jetzt noch mal die Pads modifizieren

die Memory-Pads sollen um 0,2mm dicker ausfallen, um wirklich 100% sicher zu sein. Dies betrifft sowohl die Pads, die bei dem angefordetrten Thermal-Mod mitgeliefert werden, als auch die künftige Massenproduktion selbst

die Aktion ist seit einiger Zeit beendet, inzwischen haben alle neuen und alten Karten die neuen Kühler

wer noch keinen neuen Kühler hat kann ihn bei EVGA ordern
