ein gutes Argument

so langsam krieg ich bei Ubuntu eh die Kurve, darum werde ich mir die neue Version mal anschauen

updaten werd ich aber nicht, ich installiere dann frisch

5 Jahre Updategarantie?

Vorsicht, da muss differenziert werden!

1. gilt das nur für die Derivate Ubuntu, Kubuntu und Edubuntu.

Die Unterstützung der Desktop-Version wurde von 3 auf 5 Jahre angehoben, wodurch diese nun genauso lang wie die Server-Version Support erhält (siehe Neue Support-Zeiträume für LTS-Versionen). Für die offiziellen Ubuntu-Varianten heißt das im einzelnen:

Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu: 5 Jahre Unterstützung

Xubuntu, Ubuntu Studio: 3 Jahre Unterstützung

Lubuntu, Mythbuntu: kein LTS-Release (18 Monate Unterstützung)[/QUOTE]

Und ganz wichtig, wenn 5 Jahre Updategarantie gewährt wird, dann nur für Software aus den Quellen *main* und *restricted*.
