Vor wenigen Tagen hatten wir vom einem Erscheinen des neuen Celeron mit 2 GHz in Japan berichtet. Nun stellte Intel gestern die neue Low-Cost CPU offiziell vor. Der Preis eines Prozessors soll, bei Abnahme von 1000er Stückzahlen, 103 US-Dollar kosten. Hier die offizielle Pressemitteilung vom gestrigen Mittwoch (Englisch)...
"SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 18, 2002 -- Intel Corporation today introduced the Intel® Celeron® processor at 2 GHz. Intel Celeron processors provide consumers with a great way to get on the Internet.
The Intel Celeron processor at 2 GHz delivers the right combination of features and frequency at an appropriate price point for the value desktop consumer market segment. Based on the 0.13-micron process technology, the processor utilizes the 478-pin packaging, and features a 400 MHz system bus.
In 1,000-unit quantities, the desktop Intel Celeron processor at 2 GHz is priced at $103."
